Project Aims
The Equality Works: Empowering Women in Gender Segregated Industries Project aims to promote equality in male-dominated industries through activities designed to improve flexibility, inclusivity and conditions for women working in these industries.
The project will be undertaken in three phases as follows:
Identify and connect barriers to flexibility and inclusivity in male-dominated industries in the ACT and conduct qualitative research in these industries;
Develop innovative solutions to address these barriers, using recent workplace reforms to improve conditions for women working in male-dominated industries. These solutions will include developing materials and initiatives that promote workplace change, developing materials for workers to organise for improved conditions and providing solutions that can be scaled up to remove barriers to equality.
Train and empower workplace leaders to advocate for and deliver improvements to flexibility and inclusivity, and remove barriers in their workplace and advocate for broader structural change.
